ABOUT
WHISKEY ROSE RANCH
Whiskey Rose Ranch is an idealic 10 acre property in the pines of Flagstaff and is bordered by the National Forest. It is located off the 180 hwy at the base of Kendrick Peak. Michael and Lauren had spent a few years searching all of Northern Arizona for the perfect place to build their family cabin. In the winter of 2019, using Google Earth, Michael noticed this beautiful valley amongst multiple peaks and knew we had to see it. The only way to see this property at the time was to 4 wheel in and snowshoe through waist deep snow. Michael and Lauren fell in love as soon as they drove down Crowley Trail to get to the property. They spent the next few months back and forth on an offer and competing against another potential buyer. During a Spring Break trip in 2020 while visiting family and best friends Brad and Jennifer, they were discussing their desire to purchase this property and wanted to see who else might be interested in joining them on this venture. The Jones family didn’t hesitate and jumped at the opportunity to own land in Arizona. Although they had not seen the land, they trusted in their friends Michael and Lauren. By May 2020 the 10 acres was secured. The friends had big plans for the property, but knew they first needed a name! The friends spent weeks trying to come up with the perfect name. The land was was in a location where the old railroad ran through the property. Back in the day (as the story goes), there was a man who lived near the property in an overlook he built, where he was responsible for overseeing what was happening on the railroad below. He spent many hours secluded in his homestead. To pass the time he began making moonshine. This man also had a girlfriend named Rose that would visit him up there. This legend was told to us by our agent who knew some of the history of the property. Thats when Jennifer said… “what about Whiskey Rose Ranch?” And the rest is history!
Whiskey Rose Ranch Music Fest began during Covid when Michael was frustrated at not being able to find or attend concerts and live music. He decided he was going to create his own music venue for his friends and family to enjoy where masks were not needed! So in 2021 Michael and Lauren planned their first music festival. They had a great lineup using all local artists, great friends and a great time. It was such a success that everyone couldn’t wait to attend the following year. We look forward to planning this every year and hopefully growing it each year!
